Table Queen or Acorn Squash

80 Days To Harvest: The hard, dark green shell of this heritage pepper squash hides pale yellow, exceedingly sweet flesh. Acorn shaped fruits are roughly 15 cm in diameter. An excellent keeper.

Sowing: Sow seeds outdoors in late May and June. Can be started indoors, in paper or fibre pots 3 weeks earlier.

Comments: Harvest after vine dies or rind hardens and dulls in colour. Gather before frost, leaving part of stems attached to fruit.
